I can only repeat what so many others have said, your work and tools are outstanding. On one hand it is a great inspiration, but on the other it is depressing to see how much better your work is than anything I could ever come close to doing.

Please tell me how you make the mortise cuts in the sides of the deck beams. The cuts look so perfect with nice sharp corners and edges. Also the hook scarf joints are so sharp.

Thank you for posting this work I know how much work it is to do the photos and posting.

Hear, hear, at least we have the benefit of a master at work.

Hi, Ronginger. Thank you for your assessment. In fact, it seems to me that no matter what the model or component is, it's important to locate it accurately and repeatedly pretend to assemble it. That's why I spent a lot of time developing production tools to help. Many people see the results, but many people do not think of a perfect interface, I even repeated dozens of times! I don't want to see any obvious holes, or I'll have to tear it down and rebuild it. More than 20 years of experience have enabled me to master the basic skills of machining, but in the actual production process, I usually have many different methods, the ultimate goal is to achieve efficiency and accuracy. I'm not used to doing things the same way, always looking for new ways, even the same parts. Unfortunately, many of these steps are not fully documented in practice and are only filmed at the end of a phase to avoid errors. The grooving of Bridge Deck Crossbeam is finished by milling cutter and engraving cutter. It's not hard, but positioning is important, and that's the unique advantage of my slipway.

Bitao, simply beautiful. How much do you think the hull weighs at this stage of construction?

em... That's a tough question to answer. As the deck is not complete, it can not be disassembled from the slipway, otherwise it will affect the accuracy of subsequent positioning. I'll let you know as soon as I finish the main deck, okay. If I forget, please remind me.😅

Stunning work as usual mate; I am very impressed with the consistent high quality of your joinery - this is an exceptional build!  I very much enjoy seeing your updates and especially the specialised tools you create.

cheers

I don't know if there are any other ways of saying what everyone is saying about your work, Bitao - simply amazing! A beautiful thing to see the incredible combination of engineering and artistry, and such a broad a deep level of skill. I wish I could be your apprentice!! I would happily move to Beijing to learn from you!

Thank you so much for your trust. As a hobby, I just use it as a platform to show off my abilities. Over the past few years, I have envisioned the conditional transfer (sale) of more than 20 years of model-making experience and specialized tools of my own design and manufacture. But because the current domestic level is generally low, due to economic conditions, technology and time constraints, the people who can meet my requirements are extremely limited. After all, everyone's understanding and production level is very different, a lot of things can not be done by equipment alone. So I gave up and planned to build at least five fully internal hulls to give my life purpose a happy ending. I believe in this forum, a lot of masters, there is no best only better.

Bitao, thank you. She's light for her looks, all the timbering makes her look heavier. Forgive me for asking if the answer has already been discussed earlier in your build log......what are your plans regarding planking?

Hello, Keith Black. When I finished positioning the main deck yesterday, the first thing I had to do was weigh it! For me, commitment to others is important. Because I don't have MR. EDT's third book right now, I can't do all of his work. When all the equipment on deck is finished, the work is done. I should be able to move on to the third of the five boats I've planned for my life.

The speed that you are moving forward with this makes the quality of the build all the more amazing to me.  Beautiful work as usual.
