the bow chock was made using your method

Tom - I had to look up what a bow chock was. Another example of "Two countries separated by a common language".

Yes, I think you call them fairleads. I do need some kind of fairlead for the anchor rode. As you can see, if the line comes through the chock, it won't line up with the winch properly without a fairlead on the deck. What to do?

Finished! One more notch in the belt! I hope Jon's widow appreciates the final product. Just to remind me, here's what I started with:

And here's what I've produced:

With thanks to Druxey, Tomshipmodel, Keith Aug, and especially my new brother, Keith Black for advice and following along. After this I have one more restoration/completion for yet another friend (you never know how many friends you have until you tell them you build ship models!).

Tom, congratulations, she turned out absolutely gorgeous. It's a shame that Jon isn't still with us to see the Scuds unveiling but I'm sure a smile beams down from above.

Turned out rather well Tom. The starting point was something that I think might have graced my wood burner, just goes to show how wrong first impressions can be.

Hi Tom. Well I found this party just as the last ale was being swallowed. Sorry I missed it.  But, what a salvage and transformation!  She turned out a very handsome model. Well done!
