HMS Zulu 1942 & HMS Eskimo 1944 by RGL - FINISHED - Trumpeter - 1/350 - PLASTIC

Definitely hand loaded in this era.  Greg, do you have any guidance/evidence or whether some form of anti-slip treads or the like were fitted to the deck in the wake of the guns to assist the ammo loaders etc when working the guns in wet/slippery conditions?  Not sure if I can detect some paint blemishes, divots or some form of small treads in a couple of those photos?

Looking mighty fine.

cheers

Thanks for welcoming me into this group.  This post is a true goldmine of tips and expertise by RGL and so many others. Beautiful.

The hull looks great with the plating effect. I was wondering if you leave the yellow or in this case red tape bands along the hull after you apply the grey primer coat? Or do yo remove it and hope the primer edges give the desired plating effect? Could you advise me how to achieve the plating effect? Thanks already for your help.   Friendly regards, From Dutch HWS,

Didn't see the Eskimo finished, really beautiful result on both Tribals. I will add a third to my set some time as it is in my stash to be built.

Lovely result Greg, the 3D printed parts do make a difference. Will most likely be expensive enough to get it from NZ to Europe as you mentioned it to be the other way around for e.g. paints and such

Hi guys, I was wondering where and how the crew would accesss the bridge (Trumpeter part E3) from the inside of the ship.  So I could drill a hole at the right spot and place an inclined ladder?

Would that be feasable? Could you help me here? Thanks a lot already.

No holes in the deck. It's not a sub. and having such an entrance wouldn't be practical in high seas, besides, these ships weren't known for their luxury, more discomfort ...
