ccoyle Posted April 2, 2021 Share #2 Posted April 2, 2021 Properly cared for, i.e. cased, to protect against dust and insects, a card model should prove to be as durable as a wooden model (after all, card is wood). The biggest threat to a card model is over-exposure to light, which may fade some inks. dvm27 Posted April 2, 2021 Share #3 Posted April 2, 2021 There's a delightful Admiralty style presentation folio with two card stock unfolding models that was presented to Prince William on his tenth birthday, April 13, 1731. It is still in excellent shape. It is described and shown in the Kriegstein book. It may be of some interest to bibliophiles here that an "all new" edition of the Kriegstein ship model collection will be published by Pen and Sword Books this month https://www.pen-and-sword.co.uk/Historic-Ship-Models-of-the-Seventeenth-and-Eighteenth-Centuries-Hardback/p/18975.
