KIT: USS CONFEDERACY (1778)

Manufacturer: Model Shipways (USA)

Scale: 1:64 (889mm/35")

Single plank-on-bulkhead hull.

My husband gave me a big blue box for Christmas 2020 - it is his tradition to give me a kit with a ship that was built in the area where we now live. Yes, this frigate was built here in Connecticut on the River Thames (just upstream from my city) ...

The kit designed as an admiralty model as well to show off the incredibly rich detail of its decks, furnishings and fittings. Additionally, the quarterdeck is left un-planked on the port side, leaving the great cabin and gun deck visible.

My Dad used to fly RC model planes in the 'old days', and many of the ads for sale of model airplane kits had pictures of pretty women holding a finished model ... sort of like how car commercials often have a gal showing the car.   Love it.  Johnny

Completed builds:  Khufu Solar Barge - 1:72 Woody Joe

Current project(s): Gorch Fock restoration 1:100, Billing Wasa (bust) - 1:100 Billings, Great Harry (bust) 1:88 ex. Sergal 1:65

Yes, that's right - that's exactly what it looks like!
But in fact my idea was to show the size of the model))))

How to improve the model through quality ropes.
You spent a lot of time building a model,
isn't it worth buying quality ropes or a ropewalk for making them?!

look, I found on the MSW forum site, there is such a master, named Dave, he restored the "Confederation", and along with the rigging. Since you built such a model. I thought you would be interested. (Unless, of course, you haven't seen it before me...). Dave made a very spectacular ship, I think.

and, just in case, in Ukrainian:

дивись, знайшов на сайті форуму MSW, є такий майстер, на ім'я Дейв, він відновив "Конфедерацію", а заразом і такелаж.  Якщо вже ви побудували таку модель.  Я думав, тобі буде цікаво.  (Якщо, звичайно, ви не бачили його до мене...).  Гадаю, Дейв зробив дуже ефектний корабель.
