many thanks for your words Denis and Bob,

and for your nice compliments...

Denis,

I never thought I would finish all those ships, but to avoid uncompleted "hulks"

on the shelf its better this way...

Bob,

yes, and next to other things many hours are spent down in my hobby room, I have my web-connection and my PC standing there as well and so a pensioneer`s life does`nt get boring

I`m also looking at your beautiful scale 1:32 HMS Fly build ( twice the size of mine), wow, that will be "solitaire eyecatcher" for a large room, when it`s done :)

Hi Nils,

No, it was always going to be a half model. I had thought of a full hull model, but at the rate I work, I thought that a half model wouldn't take so long! It would also be rather interesting.

One day perhaps. Hope your not too disappointed? ;)

no, not disappointed Kester,

in fact I beleave a good built half model is also a great challenge. In our old school I remember, we had a large steamer-halfmodel, mounted to a mirror in a glas case, it was  of course the totally mirrored of the built side, whereby ships are not actualy that symmetrical, but the effect was grand to see

Good morning Janet,

thank you very much for your nice compliment, I`m glad you like the completed HMS Pegasus. It sits in it`s glass case on a wardrobe in my hobby office, oposite to my work desc

You`re right with the walking straight into it with the build. It was my first 18th century build, and inspirated by all those lovely builds here at MSW, my obligation was to get it complete from A-Z, before starting a new project (either the British Naval Cutter "Alert" of 1777 or the First German Lloyd four stacker "Kaiser Wilhelm der Grosse"
