I did not realize that they had experimented with naval helicopter deployment early enough to have used the Langley as the platform. As this picture had to be taken in 1935 (+-) be3fore the deck was cut down I suspect that the aircraft was not a helicopter but an Auto Gyro. Very similar, but an Auto Gyro cannot hover and needs forward speed to take off. The three types of ships boats are from black cat and there is just no comparison.
