Steam Frigate Minnesota by Chief Mark - Scale 1:96 - wood scratch build

Recommended Posts

Being a Minnesota-phile, many years ago I became interested in the Steam Frigate Minnesota.  As a graduation gift, my wife gave me digital copies of the plans for the Steam Frigate Minnesota.  Now, after much prodding, I am commencing my plans to scratch build the ship.  First, I need to complete my workshop.  Second, I need am tackling a smaller scale project to gain the skills necessary to build an involved and complex ship model.

Welcome to MSW, Mark.  Looks to be an interesting build.    BTW, I would suggest you open a topic in the New Member Introductions to let folks know you're here and what you're planning.

Welcome Mark; look forward to seeing this build.  As a 'starter' a cross-section that includes planking, at least one gun, a mast etc will help you develop the necessary skills.  There are many fine examples of these in the forums.

cheers

Pat

Thank you all for the warm welcome!  I am also looking forward to my progress.  :)   My garage needs organizing, including a workbench, so it can be used as my workshop.
