Bent keel
Dear forum members,
I‘ve just started to build my second ship (Endeavour 1:80 by Amati) and had to realize that the whole plate with the keel and the frames is bent. I tried moistening the concave sides and clampening them against each other, with poor results (see pictures).
Could anybody give me a helping advice? Thanks in advance and the best of health to you!
This seems to be a common problem with plywood. I had the same problem with my Caldercraft Endeavour. I tried all of the above and eventually did the following. Check my build log for the Endeavour
Like Spyglass said try getting a repalacement first if that fails building supports for the keel and bulkheads worked for me once I fitted the deck before removing from a slipway. Good luck.
