Hi OC. I did quite a few ships in a small amount of time so I took a break. I'm a little rusty lol.

Welcome back.

Chris,

Really good to see you back at it.  Nice job as usual.  I have a couple of questions:

1.  Are you building a "maritime museum" somewhere in your home?  If so, please share some pics, I'd love to see how you're displaying these beauties.

2.  I've always had a love for ocean liners but have had a hard sourcing these kits.  Other than Ebay, there doesn't seem to be any retailers.  What's your source?

Looking forward to more installments of this build.

Thanks,

Wayne

Thanks Yves and Wayne. I've bought almost all of them on Ebay since that seems to be the only place the out of production kits are available. The Titanic is the exception as it can be purchased almost anywhere.

I am running out of places to put them though lol. The smaller scale kits are on a cheap shelving unit and the 1/350's have their own tables to sit on. I have no clue where I will put the 1/200 Titanic when I get around to building that. It almost needs its own room!

Thanks wemattson and OC. 1/450 QE2 is as done as I’m gonna make it. It was a quick project, a little over 3 weeks and in some places it shows lol. I’m satisfied with it for a rush job. Biggest issue was I broke off the tiny piece of mast that holds the rigging….after it was rigged. Even though it’s crooked I’m lucky I got the glue to hold it back on at all.

Very nicely done Chris. I agree with the statements above, she is a very graceful ship.

Hi there Chris, love the detail you have on your model... where did you get the railings that you used? I have the Revell 1/450 and the few railings they have are those clunky solid plastic ones. Also, the instruction book I have is TERRIBLE; a lot makes no sense and some parts on the plastic parts trees are not even shown in the instructions so I have no idea where they go, LOL! If you still have your instructions from your version of the Revell 1/450 that you could send me a pdf copy of, I would be most grateful. The version of the model I have is the one where she was painted briefly in pale gray... Very Impressed with your models you have built... I am at 4 now... SS United States, SS France, AIDABlu and the Queen Mary... waiting in the wings are this QE2, my big QM2, SS Oriana and a great fine detail premium of the Lusitania.
