druxey Posted April 1, 2023 Share #3 Posted April 1, 2023 Grey or grey-white powder is not a good sign. This sounds like lead that has deteriorated to lead oxides and carbonate with time and air. Replace them with either wood, resin or pewter ones. To avoid tin pest it should be alloyed with antimony or bismuth. Given the amount of damage there seems to be almost pure tin - at least you shouldn't have a lot of toxic substances on your hands.
