Hi Sjors,

Well, my first post! Your Aggy is looking very nice . You are far ahead of me. I just started with the guns at the lower deck. I have a problem. Part 267 (messing) have to be glued on the backside of the canon, but I dont see see this part on any picture??? Do you know what the use of this part?

Hi Hennie,

Thank you !

About your question....those are flintlocks.

If I'm correct ( or somebody will give us the right direction ) these are for firing the gun.

They has to go at the end,on the top, of the cannon.

I understand that you also build the Aggy ?

If so, open a build log and let us see what you are doing.

If you have any questions.....just ask !!

Hi Sjors,

Thx for your answer.

To answer your question; yes, I am also building the Aggy. Since a few years now. So as you can see, I take my time :)

But I dont have the time to open a buildinglog, maybe later.... I am alone and I also have a dog who needs my attention :))

I have build several ships in the past 40 years, the last three including this one are wooden.

About my earlier question: seems like no one glued that part on the canons, At least as far as I can see on the pictures.... And glue metal on metal...

Cyanacryl doesnt work... Do you know a solution?

Also read that several people blacken there small messing parts on a chemical way (Cars blacken for brass). But I didnt succeed to find a way to get that stuff here (Sittard/Limburg). Do you know a solution?

Hi Sjors,

Thank you, and Anja for the Mordaunt complement!

You must build that one, it makes a nice display model.

I am working on a Royal William at this time (Euromodel), I almost went for the Agamemnon but the RW won the day.

Yes I know! put up a build log! I may do in the future, I want to get what I call the boring stuff out of the way first, the first planking, cutting the gun ports and the second planking.

We'll see how we go.

Keep up the good work

All the best

M.

Morning Greg,Hennie and Murphy and all of you who give me likes.......  :D  :D

@ Greg,

Thanks !!!!!!!

@ Hennie,

I'm working and I still find the time to open a build log  :D  :D

So that's no excuse  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D

Next, you are right about the flintlocks.

It's so tiny and fragile that it's almost a shame to put that on the cannon.......

You don't see it and you bump it off ,almost when you only looking at it !!!!!

When I have to glue metal on metal I use Bison kitt.

0ne second glue.

They are in those bottles shaped in a pyramid vorm.

You cab by it in any supermarket to pharmacy.

When I want my brass black, I just paint it with Admirality paint , dull black !

A few layers and it works perfect.

Otherwise I can not help you.

@ Murphy,

You are building the RW....

Next one the Aggy ???  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D

And a build log is not boring !

Everyone shows his or hers skills in it and tips and trucs that we can all use........

So be my friend and opens a build log .....please `??????  :D  :D  :D  :D

Sjors,

She is coming along well - as if we expected any less.

Murphy and Hennie, I agree with Sjors, a build log is never boring, its the best way to get help and encouragement. It takes very little time to snap a picture and post it. More importantly - in my mind at least - are the people whom you will meet.
