Narrower masking tape

Recommended Posts

I did a google search on "Narrow Masking Tape" and this is one of many that showed up

I have used Chart Pack Tapes for both masking and water lines.  Much easier than trying to paint a very thin water line.  Apply the tape then  cover with a clear fixative.

I haven't used any other than Tamiya - and I have been out of that for quite some time. For all of my masking (and some projects have a considerable amount), I typically use the low-tack blue tape commonly found in all home improvement stores. If I need smaller widths, I just metal rulers to measure and as a cutting guide - if I am painting a long stripe, as in the black stripe around the hull, I cut smaller-width lengths and fill the middle, making sure to keep the straight edges to the outside. I always paint with an airbrush (except small parts) and have never had any runs when the tape wasn't properly burnished. I know that probably isn't the answer you are looking for, but I thought I would add it in case you wanted to improvise a little...
