A super little book, originally written and published in 1884 by J. Tom Burgess, but later revised and rewritten by Commander J Irving.

Mine is the 1949 edition, and I bought it new!  I think it's still being printed, though I can't be sure.

It's a small book, but it contains very good descriptions of a vast range of useful knots, plus explanations of how to do several splices and rope-ends.  Essential reading for anyone who has to rig a model ship.
