Travel Suite: Flight 602 - Chicago (Chicago III album)

I hate to say this, but I may have an unfair advantage in this particular topic.  For as long as I can remember, I was always an ardent fan of just about any kind of music.  (Even music in foreign languages that I don't understand a single word of.)  While I have absolutely no musical talent myself, that  has never dampened my interest.

Music jogs my memory, as I tend to remember things based on what music was playing back then.  When I hear a song being played (or just being mentioned), I can remember right away the first time I heard it and what was going on at the time.  Coupled with the fact that I have such a large collection of extremely varied music genres, I am seldom at a loss to come up with a song to follow up with.

I used to love those radio trivia contests where they would play a few notes from a song and you had to call in and name the song and artist.  However, they always had a restriction that if you had won a previous contest within the last week or so you were ineligible to win the current contest. (What a bummer!)

That's why, if no one replies for a day or two, I tend to add one myself just to keep things going.

About the NRG

If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
