The Sidewinder Sleeps Tonight - R.E.M. (Automatic For The People album) 1992

Please note that the B side of this song as a single was also titled: The Lion Sleeps Tonight.  The                                                              beginning of this song bears a strong resemblance to The Lion Sleeps Tonight by the Tokens in                                                            both it's title and the music. However, rather than just follow industry SOP and simply steal the                                                              song, R.E.M. actually paid for the rights to use it!

(Oh and by the way Rich, this is a triple word score!)

I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight - Cutting Crew (Broadcast album) 1986

It was by far their biggest hit.  (Allegedly the words "I just died in your arms tonight" came to                                                                 Nick Van Eede while having sex with his girlfriend one night.)

Can't You Hear Me Knocking - The Rolling Stones (Sticky Fingers album) 1971

At over seven minutes in length, it's more of an instrumental jam session than a song.  It becomes                                                        a series of solos after 2.75 minutes including congas, saxophone, organ, and finally guitar.
