Rigging Blocks- How to

Recommended Posts

I am returning to ship building after having brain surgery, and cannot seem to get the hang of stroping blocks for the rigging.  Can anyone please give me some suggestions for an easy way to accomplish this task.  I need diagrams to follow as my short term memory seems to be lagging at this point.  Any and all help will be greatly benifical.  Thanks, coastie96

This is David Steele's book on line or you can get it here:

This one is really good as it shows it step by step in color.

Perhaps the following images help with rigging blocks and such....I put together this contraption which is a takeoff on the third hand and it helps with my rigging further up in the masting. My method is a hybrid of sorts as I don't complete the full masts off of the ship but assemble in sections on and off the vessel.
