with every new Progress in rigging it has to be considered carefuly, if there still will be enough Access to the running rigging, the sails operational ropes, the belaying Pins, for the soldering iron for wire Connection Points, etc..., especially the belaying Points around the mastfoot racks are critical

post-3445-0-79845500-1392973724_thumb.jpg

many of the masts and Yards Tacklings are pre-belayed to the decklevel pinracks and sheaved through blocks mast spaces, Yard tackles an then with Surplus rope-end rolled on to a smáll Piece of Wood, until the sails are ready to be fitted, the rigging seem never to end...

Yes Nenad,

my Pamir will be carrying a full set (32 single sails) each sail fully rigged with running rigging, I know it is hard to imagine this,in my scale Chosen, but that was one of the challenging obligations I set to myself, as well as sewing the sails myself, because I found nobbody else who would do it for me.

It was also an excursion into Tallship sail rigging, and what all was needed to control, hoist, lower, reff, those sails, when doing the necessary Research hereto. The build log shall end up with the Pamir completely rigged and with a full set of sails, and braced to the shrouds, as if going in a stiff breeze.

Just peep into my Album of the "Pamir 4-mast barque" in MSW Topic "Gallery of completed scratch built models" if you wish upfront to see the final result at this stage already

have fun with the coming build log parts

Nils,

I have just read through your Pamir build log for the fist time. Beautiful work on a beautiful ship. The metalworking is exceptional. Obviously the pictures are a mixture of "in-progress" and the finshed model. I look forward to seeing your work on the metal plating and many other things.

Congratulations on a very fine model.

Hi Ed,

Thank you for stopping at my build log and for your words....

The build log is no mixture, it Begins at Zero, with the introduction... goes through all sequences...., for the plating you shall want to begin at the end of part 11, the full part 12 and partially part 13

Happy exploring, have fun

Michael

I thank you for your nice comments, it was not so difficult with the rigging, masts and sails because I built the "Gorch Fock" synchrone, with just about 2 months ahead of the Pamir, so all experienced well working things and techniques could be adopted and notso good Solutions in Details could be avoided resp. improved on the second ship.

Looks out standing Nils and talk about a lot of parts and pieces. :o  The metal work is out standing and must have took forever but looks good.  :o  ;). One thing I noticed is the crew and every once in a while you have them working around the decks and wheel. Any chance of knowing where you press them from? Outstanding Nils. Gary

Hi Garry

Thank you for looking in and for your appreciative words,

the Crew I saw once at Ebay or at Amazon, They are in scale 1:87 (HO) and by make "Preiser"

to be found under searchcriteria "Preiser Schiffsbesatzungen"
