I'm thinking it wouldn't be much different for wood... or would it? reklein Posted March 2, 2014 Share #4 Posted March 2, 2014 For duplicating shapes on the lathe,you can make a metal or card profile of the shape you wish to duplicate and then check against it while you cut. Wood woorking magazines are a great source of how to do this stuff, Check out Woodturning and Wood turning design magazines. I also made some by grinding two tiny grooves in the blade for the bands. I have a wood lathe, not a metal lathe, and not sure that would work... on the other had, without trying, I am not sure it would not work. I have to see how I would rig it up to the tool bar...
