Thanks for the props Brian and all the likes. Working on the hammock stanchions. Started with 18 gauge copper wire, hammered it flat, measured to the appropriate length, bent it to the appropriate 90's and blackened. CA'd the stanchions to the main rail. Also finished the bell and Sampson post.

You're doing very well on your deck fittings and hammock stanchions. Great work!

Thanks,

Nice work on the hammock covers! I like the shots you have taken down the deck.

You are really moving right along on Niagara! The anchors are fun to do. Be careful though as they make perfect "sleeve catchers".

Anchors pretty much done. Used some weather-it on the wood from my model railroading days. Also added some brass strips around the wood. If you have not seen it this Solder-it is awesome. A mixture of flux and solder and melts at 420 degrees. Makes brass work easy.

The weathered wood looks really nice. Can't wait to see them with everything blackened (if you're planning to).

Shipyards has you drill out the deadeyes to make bullseyes. They tend to disintegrate when drilling them out. I found it was easier to drill out the center of a dowel and cut it to the width you need.

All the Bowsprit rigging is done except the end of the shroud which gets attached to the fore mast. Received dead eyes from Syren today but waiting on a block tumbler from expo to complete them. Will get the spanker booms hung next I think.
