Mary Rose 1545 by tarbrush - Scale 1:72

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I thought I should give an explanation of what happened rather than just disappearing.  My Mary Rose project in on hold now for an indefinite period.  Sometime in March I fell on ice and hit my head hard on my cement driveway.  Now after 3 weeks in the hospital and 2 brain surgeries later I am home recuperating.  I start physical therapy this week to try and recover my fine motor skills.  Hope to be back in the saddle eventually but it may be several months away.

Hi John

I, like just about everyone else that was enjoying your build log, was wondering what had happened to you because I hadn't seen any updates for a while.

I'm very sorry to hear about your fall and I wish you a very quick and full recovery.

All the best!

Cheers

Patrick

Hi Guys,

recovery is going slow but I am out in the shop modeling again, I am working on an extremely simple Chesapeake Bay buy boat.  probably won't try working on Mary Rose again till next winter.

Dear sir tarbrush

Given the coronavirus disease, I hope you are in good health.

I am a ship enthusiast.

I read with interest your story about the beautiful ship Mary Rose.

I would also like to build a model of this ship.

Unfortunately, even after much research, I was unable to find a good plan.

I saw with great joy that you were lucky and found a GOOD PLAN, by DAVID MEAGER.  Please be so kind and help me get a copy of this plan. Copying on paper would be perfect. Obviously, I pay the costs of the transport and the plane.

I hope you will read my message.

I wish you a good weekend.

Hi Mathew

I haven't touched my Mary Rose in years now, I will hunt around through my stuff and see what I can find.

Hi Matthew,

just thought I would check Amazon before I dive into the mess of my old plans.  The book I used: "Mary Rose Your Noblest Shippe"  included the plans I used.  the book is still available at Amazon here.  https://www.amazon.com/Your-Noblest-Shippe-Anatomy-Warship/dp/1785701592/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=Mary+Rose+Your+Noblest+Shippe&qid=1638723147&s=books&sr=1-1

their price for a new book is $72.  For building your model this book would be a very worthy investment.

Hi Tarbrush

First I tell you that I am very happy that you answered me. Thanks a lot.

I thank you for the recommended title of the book. -I own this book, and with great interest I studied the book. It contains both historical information and naval engineering information. UNFORTUNATELY, at least in the book I bought I have NOT FOUND a REAL GOOG PLAN, as well as the one you photographed on the first page from DAVID MEAGHER, with many frames. (In your photo I could count 19 frames )

--I searched the internet with keywords - Mary Rose plans and David Meagher 1997, but unfortunately I found nothing, no plans to buy, no to download.

I think you were lucky to find that plan so complete. And precisely because I saw the images of David Meagher's plan that you photographed on page nr.1 , that I thought I'd ask you for help.

Maybe with a little luck you will find it again.

I wish you a good week, and a good feast of Saint Nicholas.

Matthew

good to hear from you Steven, I've been enjoying your builds and posts.  for recovery, my manual dexterity is back, problem solving ability, not so much.  Matthew's post got me thinking about trying to work on Mary Rose again.  I've been looking at plans for a Hanseatic cog lately.

Keith, your Mary Rose is stunning and very inspirational!
