HMS Bellona by harlequin - Corel

Recommended Posts

well its amazing how suddenly a model seems to change character and start to resemble a finished product....not that I am anywhere near that yet but there is a little chink of light that seems to be emanating from the end of the tunnel. Will post some pics later of progress...a lot of niggly little bits have been added which helps. The hull is slowly getting there.

Bit of colour for the figure head...…..it is amazing how rubbish your work looks when it is larger than normal. Not sure these will be the final colours for Bellona just happy playing about...

Hi Harlequin, wonderful job. It has inspired me to persevere with my HMS Fly. I have just started my second planking and will strive to make as good a job as you have. Fine work sir. I also see you have to be in for the long haul, no five minuite jobs here. Hope for us all yet!

cheers Busby.....long gaps occur during my builds.....Bellona was left alone for almost 18 months then suddenly I get a spurt on.....I have ready for the off corels HMS Unicorn and Endeavour....once I move onto the masting and rigging I will start one of the others.....more than likely Unicorn.

thought i'd work on the masting for a change...the hull is on its finishing straight but a change is as good as a rest.

About the NRG

If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
