Hello Dimitris, just gone through your log. Really nice work. The fibreglass and the paint work is awsome. I sure can learn a few things from you about paintwork.

Hi Dimitris

An especially nice job you've done on the railings and stanchions.

It's also amazing just how much work is involved in this ship and you're doing a great job.

Keep it up.

All the best

Patrick

Hello Patrick,  thank you for your kind comments and for stopping by again to my build log. Yes those little things are everywhere ..... :) :)

Hello Dimitris...

I finally had a chance to get back to your log after all this time.  I have been neglectful for not cheking in earlier but am very pleasantly surprised with your work.  You are doing a hell of a job for a second timer.  I believe you will end up with a terrific model and will be one proud Greek when it's finished.

Keep up the great work;

Your phile...

Dimitris,

Very nice work on the stern rudder housing - your typical high build standards! I had wondered what the little white 'box' objects were and where they went... Are they storage lockers? I also wonder what those little 'deck extensions' are to which you've installed hand rails and stanchions (all brass). Very nice work there.

Cheers,

Elia

Hello shipmates, Elia-Igor-Patrick, I do thank you for your nice comments and also for the likes.

Regarding your question about the white boxes and  the deck extensions.... After doing some research on the web ( it is not mention in the manual) I find out.. absolutely nothing!! I believe you are right about the white boxes. I think that the deck extensions are some kind of observation points.Let me get back on this after doing some more research!! :) :)

Kind Regards

Dimitris

Hello shipmates, regarding the deck extensions I found this explanation. The 4 balconies on the deck are used from the captain to execute maneuvers when the ship leaves or coming to  the port. Also the 4 balconies have gyro compass or magnetic compass depending on the season. They were also used  for observation from the officers  watching out for other ships or floating objects.

Kind Regards

Dimitris

Hi Dimitris,

Thought I'd pull up a chair for your build as well.

Amazing pics of the real ship...she's a beauty and it's nice to have pictures of the real ship to aid your effort...which I might add is looking top notch :)

Also, I saw the fiberglass and resin job you did on the hull...very clean job...I've been using fiberglass and carbon fiber on my RC Fast Electric Catamarans for years so I can fully appreciate the effort that goes into that type of work  :)

G'day Dimitris

Beautiful work on the stanchions and hand rails.

Good idea to cover the holes in deck, to stop the little blitters of the stanchions dropping in the holes.

Cheers

Hello Greg, thanks for your kind comment. Good idea indeed, but it came to me after spending half an hour turning the ship upside down, trying to take the stanchion out, the first time I placed it. :) :)

Thanks mate, I'll be taping the holes when I do something similar.
