I have completed the bismarck now here are the rest of the build log.  I had to buy extra PE to do the bits that were missing from the Eduard PE.  All I can say is that the amount I spent on PE for this model I could have bought the Revell Bismarck and one lot of PE.

Beautiful build and really nice work with the PE. I know what you mean about having to purchase extra PE, I had to do the same with my Trumpeter 1-350 HMS Dreadnought kit. Thanks for posting!

Hello

Very nice build. I have just also bought the Tamiya Bismarck so I am glad to see more builds of it. I have bought the PE for revell instead (Eduard) and I hope i can get the parts to fit in the tamiya.... I also thinking of put a real wooden deck from 1mm Wood sticks. I have found a Beautiful build of 1/200 Bismarck that I will try to follow as close as possible.  http://www.florymodels.co.uk/trumperter-1200-bismark-1/

G,

I know it has been a while since you finished the Bismark, but I wanted to ask your opinion on the Veteran Model C38's? I have the Revell Tirpitz and have slowly been purchasing the aftermarket parts I want and have considered the Veteran pieces but wanted an opinion from someone who actually used them.

Thanks in advance,

Steve

I think that they are good, a mixture of brass and resin.  They make a nice replacement for the Tamyia molded box with 4 barrels.  I did not use it in the end, but that was because I was getting bored with the model and wanted to get the model finished as quickly as possible, not because of anything wrong with the gun kit.  If you do use them you will need to invest in a 0.2mm drill bit to drill out some of the resin for the barrels.
