After four long years, I've finished it! This is a modified version of Model Shipways' Fair American kit. I built it fully rigged with sails, and with bowsprit rigging more suited to a ship of 1800, including martingale stays and a dolphin striker. This is my first really serious build, although I built a ship model before this that turned out poorly, and some smaller models while I worked on this one. I'm really proud of it, and I hope you all enjoy!

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build.
