    Hello everyone. This looks like a great site! I'd like to buy my wife a nice chinese wooden model kit. She is very accomplished at making/fixing intricate things. She would like to make the junk kit b/c we lived full time on boats for 14 of the last 20 years and we love chinese junks. We won't ever be living aboard again and she'd like to build the model to remind us of the junk we almost bought. Can anyone recommend a really good quality model about 16" long? Cost isn't an issue but quality is. Oh yeah, we live in BC on Van. Island.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build.
