Strip storage

Hello all I am enjoying building kits very much, but look forward to kit-bashing and eventual scratch building. While working on my kits, I will need a piece of (for example) 1/16 x 3/64 basswood. First, I paw thru my all my kit wood for basswood, then search each little bundle for the 1/16 x 3/64. This is such a hassle. So, some questions for the forum: 1. How do you store your strip wood? 2. Vertical of horizontal? 3. Does each type of wood get it's own container, and each size as well? This would mean that you would have separate storage for: 1/8 x 1/8 boxwood, 1/8 x 1/8 cherry, 1/8 x 1/8 holly, 1/8 x 1/8 basswood, 1/8 x 1/8 walnut, etc. 4. How do YOU organize? 5. Other considerations? Pictures would be appreciated. J Sherrod -
Hello all I have the bug terribly for a Byrnes table saw, even though I know nothing about fancy power tools, and have been making it Ok as a beginner with my handy Chopper. I see on eBay and amazon a DVD: Miniature Table Saw featuring the PREAC precision miniature table saw. Description: Just like in the real world of fine full size cabinet making where accuracy is everything, I will teach you how to scale and produce accurate and realistic cuts, joints and other detail that will make the difference between a "toy" miniature and a Reproduction true to the original. The table saw is the workhorse in any wood working shop and so it is in the miniature shop as well. Accuracy is also proportional to the scale you are reducing the original. It is therefore extremely important that you not only have a tool capable of such accuracy, but know how to properly coax that level of accuracy out of it. In this DVD you will learn all about this saw and how to make every cut required for most work cabinet making situations as well as simply how to do it MINI style. Running Time: Approximately 1-1/2 hours. With Jose Rodriguez The DVD is $37 plus shipping. I am sure the techniques could be adapted to Byrnes, Proxxon, Dremel, etc. Has anyone seen/tried this DVD. Hello all I was just lurking on eBay, and see a nice looking Halifax admiralty style kit being offered. I says it is made by the Unicorn company, and the box has what looks like Japanese writing. The seller is in Moscow Russia, and the kit ships from Russia. Also offered is a HMS Druid kit, plus various blocks - 3-9 mm in single double and triple. Has anyone ever heard of these guys?
