    I am building a corel greyhound and the supplied straps are lead and break easy and they don't take paint well. I want to make my own out of wire. Is there any wire than I can buy that is black or is there a way to blacken the wire without using paint. Thanks

    Is there a numbered parts list that I am missing? The drawings have the parts numbered but there is no sheet that tells me what are the corresponding parts.

    Thanks everyone. You can call me Ten. I got the name from a song by the band Sugar Ray. OMG That Amati parts kit looks amazing, I might just wait for that one. I am actually building a Little Demon V8 by Steve Hucks right now.

    I am half way through a Corel Greyhound and it is turning out pretty good considering the lack of good instructions. I am 40 and have been building things my whole life starting with lego and plastic car models and now with my career. I am a boilermaker by trade for the last 20 years. So I am very good at reading and following blueprints. I am hobby machinist, with a lathe and mill and I build any neat little gadgets I see online. I have always wanted to build a wooden ship and the greyhound is fun but I want a bigger challenge.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build.
