  1. currently working on a scratch build of the Brandenburg Berlin (1674) and all the Berlins on this site show belay pins on the gunwales and railings. It is my understanding that belay pins did not come into fashion till around early to mid 1700's (1720 and up ) Being this ship was of German origin not British is it possible that the were ahead of the game or were lines and falls tied off to kevels cleats and railing like most ships of her time ? Any advice would be appreciated. thanks in advance.
