So, thank you for excepting me to the forum. A little introduction about me, I'm a retired cabinet maker, woodmachinist, and carpenter. I originally started out as an antique restorer/cabinet maker, then went to woodmachining and finally fine finish carpentry.
I used to make airfix plastic ships about 30 years ago, then took the jump to wood kits.
Finished my last wooden kit, heavily modified 2 years ago along with a display case that I spent ten years working on (that's yet to be finished the case needs glazing) i do have a build diary on how i made the case if members are interested to see/learn im happy to post the photos) between working full-time as a carpenter, last year I got back into the hobby and I'm now working on two ships.
Apostle Felipe by Occre heavily modified, and ive started Sovereign of the seas by Degnostini (to say I'm disappointed by this kit would an understatement) so this will be heavily kit bashed and modified, advice from members will be appreciated.
Plan to start build diaries on both soon, once I pull the past years progress photos off FB, and figure out how to start a build diary.
I don't double plank, I prefer to single plank using exotic hardwoods, I'm also a handplane maker.
From Ireland
Chris.
