    Thank you all for the warm welcome 🙂 I owe you a blink of what I am doing ... ... here is my first build in 1/700. It's kinda practice and refreshing of building and painting (ohhh... eyes got old). Here are my first ready ships: This scale is, to match my Eaglemoss Enterprise Collection. The Enterprise CV-6 is waiting in 1/2400 from GHQ ... made a 1/1200-model of her twenty years ago, but it does not match the size, I want: ... again, thanks a lot for the warm welcome and I'll keep you updated with my model-building.     Hi all. I am an old guy from Germany, who was modelling since his youth, mainly plastic kids as Revell or Airfix or similar. My passion for ships stated in the mid 90ies, when Galopp released their Micromachines Star Trek series, and I wanted to make a collection "Vessels named Enterprise" and several nautical vessels were missing. Tumbling over GHQ, Langton etc ... I was searching for my missing ships. This intense search for nautical vessels caught me and 15 years ago I bought the Black Pearl Build-Magazines from De Augustini (which is still on my Bucket List) Meanwhile, in times of affordable 3D Printing, I sure, I can finish my collection. At the moment I am building an American and a British fleet from Black Seas Tabletop Game in 1/700 scale and hope to find and share tips and tricks for building here. Also I hope to find the motivation here, to start building the Black Pearl ... one day. So ... hello!

If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build.
