My first attempt at model shipbuilding, an early Roman trireme (c. 300 B.C.).
There are 166 oars (there were supposed to be 168, but I mis-measured the rowing bench spacing), and about 1,200 total parts. Because had very little knowledge of proper materials, I built it almost entirely out of balsa. The build time was about 250 hours over 6 months.
