  1. Chapelle's Maryland Crabbing Skiff

    Hello All,
I just completed another workboat from the Chesapeake Bay Area. It is scratch built from information used strickly from Chapelle's Book "AMERICAN SMALL SAILING CRAFT". I have a great love for these little workboats from this area. The big attraction for me is their sleek hull style and the beautiful tillers and rudders they are know for. She is displayed like she is being driven by the wind...
So I hope you enjoy the pictures taken by my wife as some of you know, takes all my final photos for me.
She has been officially been christened "THE KRUSTY KRABB". Our kids had a big part in naming her....

  2. The Sea of galilee Boat

The Sea of Galilee Boat also known as the "Jesus Boat" was an ancient fishing boat from the 1st century CE (the time of Jesus Christ), discovered in 1986 on the north-west shore of the Sea of Galilee in Israel. The remains of the boat, 27 feet (8.27 meters) long, 7.5 feet (2.3 meters) wide and with a maximum preserved height of 4.3 feet (1.3 meters), first appeared during a drought, when the waters of the Sea (actually a great fresh-water lake) receded. There is no evidence connecting the boat to Jesus or his disciples.

The Sea of Galilee Boat is historically important to Jews as an example of the type of boat used by their ancestors in the 1st century for both fishing and transportation across the lake. Previously only references made by Roman authors, the Bible and mosaics had provided archeologists insight into the construction of these types of vessels. The boat is also important to Christians because this was the sort of boat used by Jesus and his disciples, several of whom were fishermen. Boats such as this played a large role in Jesus' life and ministry, and are mentioned 50 times in the Gospels, though there is no evidence connecting the Sea of Galilee Boat itself to Jesus or his disciples.

  4. Bounty Launch 1:16 M.S..bashed....teleman

This is a very nice kit sold by Model Shipways to introduce model builders to POF contruction. But I decided midway thru the build to make as historically acurate as possible by following May's Book on Boats of Men at War ,,,,Hahn's on the HMS Bounty
But I made most of my decision by following all the info I could from Bligh's highly detailed Log Book....
