  1. Hi all, hope this is the right place for this post. I'm new around here, but I have been building model ships in plastic for some time now. At the moment I'm building the Spanish Galleon at 1/96 and now I want to improve a little bit the general aspect and give it a better look for that I want to build the dead eye tables in wood and make all the respective rigging with the dead eyes instead of the nasty plastic things that they send on the model. At the moment I have made one trial with balsa wood but is to fragile and brakes quite easy,so my question is which one is the better wood to do this. I would be much appreciated for your help. This is what I intend to do. Thank you all in advance.
