  1. Thanks for the help. I'll definitely reach out to Lloyd.
  2. I actually found the images. Here are some good photos of the 2mm rigging that I am looking for: https://www.flickr.com/photos/michaelriley/17217148162/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/michaelriley/17032729279/ You can see the 2mm rigging on the right in both photos. Here are some good images of the entire ship: https://www.flickr.com/photos/michaelriley/17011429357/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/michaelriley/16596467224/ This shows the lack of deck planks and again shows the 2mm rigging: https://www.flickr.com/photos/michaelriley/17031075938/ The entire set is listed here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/michaelriley/ Hope this helps. thanks Mike Riley
  3. Tom, Well, I say I want 2mm size only because I actually measured using calipers the diameter of the thread/string. So I am trying to get that exact size. So measuring the rigging with calipers I got 2.03mm or .080 inch diameter for the larger rigging and 1.08mm or .042 inch diameter for the smaller rigging. I measured the main large sail and got 12 1/2 inch width at the top and 14 1/2 inch width at the bottom of the sail. I apologize, but I am not familiar with what you meant regarding the diameter of the sail. Regarding the deck planks there actually are not any deck planks on the ship. It is a single piece of wood for the deck. Like I mentioned creative license was used in building this ship. It is not extremely detailed that you see in most model ship projects. thanks Mike Riley
  4. George, You are correct. The model itself is quite large. Height is 41 1/2" and the length is 48". The width is about 4 or 5" at the base but the sails are about 9." You are also correct about the 2mm thread that is for the shroud. I believe the ship is a galleon. I have not been able to find any images that it matches up with perfectly. I think some creative license was used when the ship was built. I do have some good images of it that I can post, but I don't have them at the moment. Mike Riley
  5. Thanks Tom, I actually got in touch with Chuck but he doesn't have the 2mm size, but does have 1.14 (pretty close to the 1mm I need). So I am still looking for the 2mm size. Thanks for the help. Mike Riley
  6. Hello everyone, I have a custom model ship (it is not from a kit). It was built by my great grandfather. I am looking to restore the ship (some of the rigging has come undone) and need certain sizes and colors and having a heck of a time trying to source it. I am looking for the following: 1mm diameter brown rigging 2mm diameter brown rigging I am open to taking white thread or some material and dipping it in stain to get the right color if necessary. I have looked at quite a few model sites but have thus far been unable to find what I need. Does anyone have an idea on where I should look? I am open to making it (finding the right thread or material) myself if necessary. thanks Mike Riley
