  1. NRP Sagres by Jorge_Goncalves - DeAgostini - 1:95

The NRP Sagres was built at the Blohm & Voss shipyards in Hamburg in 1937 to serve as a teaching vessel for the German Navy — where it was called Albert Leo Schlageter — together with its fellow Gorch Fock class: the first, which named the class; the second, former Horst Wessel (now USCGC Eagle); the fourth, Mircea; there was still a fifth, the Herbert Norkus, destroyed before it was finished.

The NRP Sagres is the main training ship of the Portuguese Navy. The current Sagres is the third ship with that name to perform nautical instruction functions in the Portuguese Navy, and therefore, also known as Sagres III, it is the best known ship of this component of the Portuguese Armed Forces, identified by its sails bearing the cross of the Order of Christ. The mission of this teaching vessel is to allow training and contact with life at sea for cadets of the Escola Naval, future officers of the Portuguese Navy. Complementarily, it is used in the national and international representation of the Navy and Portugal.

This is my first wooden model. This kit is sold in Portiugal by Deagostini in 120 issues, based on Occre's Gorch Fock kit.
Scale 1:95; Length: 975 mm; Width 255 mm; Height: 600 mm
It was built in about 18 months during the pandemic.
