As a kid I loved assembling the plastic snap-tite airplane and car models. I have dabbled in woodworking for the last couple of decades, mostly turning nice boards into sawdust. For the last 8 years I have been sailing and racing on J/30s and similar keelboats. Model ship building seems like an amazing intersection of these other hobbies. I just ordered the Swampscott Dory kit from BlueJacket. This will be my first wood kit model, and my first model boat. I'm really looking forward to digging in seeing just how little I know about this world.
