    I see, thanks a lot. So it's quite possible that MANTUA Models was misleaded by this HMS Victory display, incomplete. I can see now that the piece has an hole in it.

    Hello Allan, I made it stright from the Mantua box. However, I can see the same system on the carronade in the HSM Victory's 68lb display. as well as in another document found online as well

    This project is based on the Mantua model '1:17 British naval carronade from XVIII century'. Compared to the 36lb French naval gun from Mantua, in same scale, this one looks more accurate. The scratch-built parts are not so many and mostly out from the box. I decided to give a 'weathered' and heavily used appearance. I am quite satisfied with the final result.

    Ciao to all members. I am proud of being able to share my artworks with all of you. My name is Ugo. I have been an avid modeler since my childhood, focusing on military figures and miniatures after decades of static aicraft modelling. Very recently I felt to start working with the wood and metal. So my first projects started with the Naval Guns. I have posted my first project in this forum, a 36 pounder from a kit of Mantua models that had to be completely reworked. But it was a nice challenge and enjoyed every minute of it. My main activity is designer and technical illustrator, mainly in aerospace industry. See you soon in these pages.

    Greetings from Sardinia Island, Italy. This is my first post here. I would like to share my project, a 36lb naval gun from XVIII century. When I bought the Mantua kit of this model I soon realized it was very inaccurate under so many aspects. After some researches I decided to save the gun, wheels and the deck, scratch-building all the rest. The final result is quite satisfing for me, at least compared to the starting kit. Later on will post some pictures related to some steps in building this model. Unfortunatley didn't took many pictures while progressing the work.
