I was confused by these cutouts for the oars. I added small blocks which can be inserted when the boat is under sail to increase free-board, which was already low in this overloaded vessel. Somebody build a full scale replica and used something similar to seal off these cutouts. Other options would have ben some posts seen in other models. Does anybody know which version is the historically most accurate?

Good day. nice build I just ordered this kit. was part 57 pre shaped? if not how hard was it to file to shape?

at the stern, the bulwark end a little lower than expected 

maybe I will try to bend them.

 

Sand the front of the bullworks inner parts so they meet at a nice angle.

I just ordered this kit, I want to avoid this curved keel, Can I straighten the keel som how with weights and set  it  on granite?? perhaps a quick dpi in hot water then lay weights on it??
