    • Well I've made it a bit farther than I expected frankly. But it's been fun, a nice break from making ceramic pottery on the wheel which has been my hobby focus for several years. Model boat building is much cleaner and less dust ! I've been working on the Martegaou as best as I've been able for a few weeks. The rigging plans are really hard to decipher. Has anyone else had the same experience with Billings plans ?
    • I am pleased to find that my skills on a sewing machine aren't so bad ! I'll post more pics tonight when I get back to the shop.
    • Btw, does this model have a mast rake angle ? Anyone know ? I haven't set the mast as of yet.
    • Anyone want to recommend a model that might be a good sequel to this boat ? A beginning  intermediate-intermediate ? LOL.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build.
