    Morning boys and girls. I’m finishing up coppering the hull on my ModelShipways USS Constitution. First time coppering. I used the kit provided copper tape to cut the tiles from. Now that I’m nearly complete I’ve noticed that there are quite a few tiny corners that have lifted up through handling the hull. Not so many that it ruins the overall appearance and they are easily flattened back out. My question is for those of you who have used the copper tape, do you use something to spray on to seal it to prevent this? Many thanks.

    Hello boys n girls, Name is Bryan 71 and retired. Glad to have found the forum, guild, and museum. Thanks for the add. Not new to modeling (plastic AF jets mostly), but have recently finish my first wooden ship Artesania Latina La Hermione. For a first build it was like drinking water through a fire hose. Loved every second of it, took 9 months. Nuff rambling. I’ve decided on the USS Constitution for my second build and have begun gearing up and researching. Of course I’ve seen 18,000 (give or take a couple) vendors for the ship so thinking that you folks are “dialed in” on the USS Constution, which one do YOU think is the best one based on quality of materials and quality of the instruction? Many thanks!

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955.
