    Thank you for your information - I was extremely fortunate on receiving Vol 1 & 2 of The Cutty Sark by Longridge. I acquired this through a Facebook Group on Billing Boats where a generous modeler sent me these books along with The Cutty Sark Pocket Manual.

    I purchased a Billing Boats Cutty Sark 459 kit 35-40 years ago and resurrected it last January. I am getting to a point where I have to think about rigging but there are no instructions with this kit other than a couple of drawings. However I need more detail in several areas than is provided on these drawings - ie connections via dead eyes to the deck; rigging connections at the masts; connection parts to the deck etc. In the days I purchased the kit, a fixture kit was a separate item which I didnt know at the time. I have tried Billing with little success; I have received some information via Billing Boats FB group and some other chat groups. Ant suggestions would be greatly received. Bill

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build.
