  1. Yes, my kits both have etched metal parts. I'm trying to understand if it's a leftover stock item or something else. Here you see the new kit on top, the old on the bottom.
  2. Didn't see Jacques Cousteau's thumb. What a myth he was. I remember watching his documentaries when I was a kid, in the summer. And his Calypso. Great memories.
  3. Thank you all folks. Chris I think my old account is already deleted since I couldn't get in. By the way I've been around there many years ago, Chas.
  4. Hello Adrian, I had (in the past) and have again the same ship. Beautiful. I started at the time (never made a wooden ship before) but never carried on. I bought it again a couple days ago and this time I'll try to build her and more important finish her. I will be following your build in the meanwhile. Since I've read on the site that the Sergal kit is quite different than the real ship, I bought "Fast Sailing Ship" book by McGregor to check it. One question: the two (I bought two at the time) kits I had didn't have printed decks while the one I bought recently does. What about yours?
  5. As written in the title, hello everyone. I registered years ago to the site but never followed since various things in life. Or better, since life. So I registered again this time hoping to carry on with building. I did almost all kind of modeling less wooden ship. I started Sergal Thermopylae a life ago but never carried on, then it got broken and I bought it again some days ago. Since this is a different topic, I'll probably stick to one already open. Cheers.
