    To avoid any nailing as much as possible when planking I use this simple method of modified binder clips , on the photo’s it shows a dry test run and no gap showing between the Gun wale and the deck , I use Tamiya acrylic paint ( colour US Navy white ) after priming and sanding sealer , as soon as the paint is dry I will start the serious planking, also I have decided to not going ahead with the double planking on the lower Hull and will paint it a bottom red as close as possible to the real Bluenose .

    btw I had a look at other clamping tools , they might do the job and what I read in other posting the metal screw types aren’t really great , expensive and I don’t want to damage the frames.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build.
