  1. To avoid any nailing as much as possible when planking I use this simple method of modified binder clips , on the photo’s it shows a dry test run and no gap showing between the Gun wale and the deck , I use Tamiya acrylic paint ( colour US Navy white ) after priming and sanding sealer , as soon as the paint is dry I will start the serious planking, also I have decided to not going ahead with the double planking on the lower Hull and will paint it a bottom red as close as possible to the real Bluenose .

    btw I had a look at other clamping tools , they might do the job and what I read in other posting the metal screw types aren’t really great , expensive and I don’t want to damage the frames.
