Hammock netting installation

I am a novice modeler who is working on Bluejacket's Constitution.  I have the hammock crane irons installed, and am ready to install the netting.  I would like to know the pros and cons of using thread versus wire on top, and good techniques for installing the netting itself.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
