I'm a modified-scratch builder of limited skill. I would like to build either the "Robbie Hunter" or the "St. Thomas".

both dating from the mid-to-late 19th century.I have  the plans of one and will shortly have the plans of the other.

I need help in figuring out the sequence of operations in beginning the hull structure.

Have anyone scratch-built a Scow Schooner that might give me some assistance.

Thank you.

Mandan,

If I were building one I think I'd simply build in the same manner as any other ship - backbone of keel/stem/sternpost; frames; planking.

As a matter of interest, are those scow schooners as flat as this one from New Zealand?

John
