CSS Virginia (nee Merrimac) and USS Monitor

I assembled these Metal Earth models.  The scale for the models are 1:370 and 1:393 respectively.  The kit goes by the name of the Merrimac and Monitor.

 

For those not familiar with ME, the have a line of premium models which include more detailed models over other models they offer.  

 

If you have worked with photo etched (PE) parts, you can appreciate the challenges and advantages over other model mediums. 

 

I found the models a challenge and I am pleased with the results.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
