Chapelle's Maryland Crabbing Skiff

Hello All,
I just completed another workboat from the Chesapeake Bay Area. It is scratch built from information used strickly from Chapelle's Book "AMERICAN SMALL SAILING CRAFT". I have a great love for these little workboats from this area. The big attraction for me is their sleek hull style and the beautiful tillers and rudders they are know for. She is displayed like she is being driven by the wind...
So I hope you enjoy the pictures taken by my wife as some of you know, takes all my final photos for me.
She has been officially been christened "THE KRUSTY KRABB". Our kids had a big part in naming her....

Hello.    Very nice model. I am a french designer, involved in light boat building. the book by Chapelle is one always on my desk. I admire immensely the men from long time ago who were able to build these little marvels of a boat, with just their mind, hands, and knowledge of  working at sea.  the maryland crabbing skiffs were absolutely beautiful, there are very few workboats as graceful as this one. the model is very faithful to the original. very nice job.   regards.   Hervé Gouinguenet.

I just wanted to say thanks for posting these. I'm about to build Reuel Parker's plans for this design full size, and these are the only real pictures of the type anywhere online. They were very helpful to making my final decision to build one, to showing folks what I'm planning to do, and to my general scheming and daydreaming. So thanks!
