Do you think it's better than the polyurethane? Is it worth buying some?

Polyurethane or Cellulose?
It has been suggested by one experienced source that polyurethane water based varnish (Varathane) is best but the instructions in my Constructo kit suggest cellulose varnish (such as Basin brand).
I already have the Varathane varnish but might be willing to try to find the cellulose type if it's superior for ship models.
Any opinions?

The deck looks great. I was advised to use Varathane water based Diamond Wood Finish interior Satin. I used this on the deck for the Halifax and it dries fast, cleans up with water and doesn't change the color of the wood.
