  1. Revell - Dom Fernando II e Glória

    Hello! Here is my first build, Revell's Dom Fernando II e Glória. It was my journey to learn how to build plastic sailing ships and do all the rigging. Since it was my first one, i'm pretty happy with the result. Hope you enjoy the photos. :)

  2. AL - Mare Nostrum

    After Revell's plastic sailing ship, i wanted something else, and wooden ones started to be interest number one. So... I bought AL's Mare Nostrum. Always loved the feeling of fishing boats, so it was excellent choice for me. And what comes for the AL's kit, it was absolutely charming and lovely one to build. I really enjoyed it, since it offers a lot of everything what a beginner could want to learn. I also did some scratch building in there, which was fun. What i didn't liked, was that the kit wasn't very realistic, so i needed to do a lot extra things to make it look like a real fishing boat.

If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build.
